Receive Cutting On and Off
« on: June 13, 2020, 07:48:28 pm »
Greetings All,

Has anyone had this particular issue?  If so, any suggestions or ideas?  Even if you haven't suggestions and ideas are also welcome.

When I am using Blue DV AMBE, either the windows version or the android version, I notice the "green" screen (listening to a station) cuts on and off very quickly. This occurs at different intervals, but sometimes a few times a minute.  The duration is very short, so the loss of conversation is almost negligent.

This situation happens using my wifi (Win 8.1 PC & Android) or data plan (Android).

Thanks for any help.

Hi George,

I've never used that particular unit, but the symptom sounds to me like some type of buffer is filling up and/or overflowing.

I know on Pi-Star there's a setting called the "jitter buffer" that can be increased to help with that.  Perhaps there's something similar on the BlueDV AMBE?

Just want to make sure the basics are covered because when I was new to DMR I didn't know this so just want to make sure but what you are describing could be people joining into the talkgroups? The reason I ask is if you are in a talkgroup and someone joins after you, it will flash the green light as receiving but if a person is just joining that talkgroup it will do that and you will not hear a transmission at all. If you want to test that go onto a Talkgroup where there is little activity (you are more than welcome to join mine 4357 Helpdesk). That way you can transmit with someone and it will not be one of the busier talkgroups where others are listening. Then have that person leave the group and join back to see if that is in fact what you are seeing. If you know more about DMR please do not think I am being condescending I am just saying I have been there so I don't want to assume noone else has ever had that problem other than me. 73 Garett, KY4WIN
