DMRGateway modified to provide voice announcements of the startup network set in the dmrgateway.ini file
as well as changes in the selected network based on the TG90000-TG90005 sent from the radio.
updated on http://github.com/VE3RD/DMRGateway-1
also available as before on http://dmr.pgtto.com/the-new-dmrgateway-2018/

Just installed the revised DMRGateway Phase II but am not getting the voice announcements.

I installed it using the install.sh script from http://dmr.pgtto.com/the-new-dmrgateway-2018/  which appears to pull what it needs from http://github.com/VE3RD/DMRGateway-1 .  Was this correct, or is there a separate procedure to install the one with the voice announcements?

Or maybe I'm missing something obvious? I am running a Jumbospot with Pi-Star version 3.4.17. I  am getting the voice announcements from Brandmeister (on issuing a disconnect on TG4000, for example) but nothing about the startup network, changes on selected network, etc.  Maybe the cheap Chinese boards don't support this?

Any ideas?

Or maybe, even though I'm running 3.4.17 and everything else seems to be working, I need Pi-Star version 4 for the voice announcements to function?

Anyone?

Update: Had to revert to the original gateway (too many issues with the modified gateway).  Incidentally, that involved wiping and reinstalling Pi-Star from scratch.  Discovered that install.sh did NOT create a backup of the original unmodified gateway binary or gateway ini) during installation, thus rendering option 3 "RestoreOld" useless.

Oh, and also discovered part of the reason why the voice announcements aren't/weren't working.   Managed to get that working partially before reverting.

Update #2: SUCCESS!!!! After MUCH perseverance, investigation and tweaking, FINALLY got this all working (including the voice prompts!).

Hint: Don't expect this to work "right out of the box" by using the install.sh script and instructions at http://dmr.pgtto.com/the-new-dmrgateway-2018/  .  It likely won't.

If anyone is interested in what needed to be done, let me know, and I'd be happy to point you in the right direction(s).
