It may or may not connect.   Here are my steps:

I read that you should enable the HotSpot function on the iPhone first, which I do.

Then I power on the Junior hot spot and wait.  Once I see the MMCVM starting to scroll, I wait for some activity on the TG.  Yesterday, I finally saw the IP Address on the screen, which was 192.168.50.1 (still hearing no traffic).  I could not get to it on the browser on my phone.  Nothing, long delay (Google Chrome) before telling that the network could be accessed.

I just don't know what I am doing wrong?  I have full signal on the AT&T network, so that should not remotely be an issue.  So without access to the Pi-Star dashboard, I had no choice on powering it down, other than removing the power USB cable from the Junior.

Does anyone know how to set my iPhones hotspot to the 2.4 ghz band so my TGIF spot will connect to it.  The SSID is simply my last name with no special characters or spaces.  It will not connect......  I just want to ensure the phone's hotspot (wifi) is not broadcasting on the 5 ghz band.....

If this doesn't work, I have brand new Junior I can part with.

Thanks,

I finally figured this out and thought I would share. Taken me months, to resolve this connection issue.

Ironically, the help I found came from the Open Spot 3 forum over at Shark RF, but it worked and never was mentioned as I searched for this answer elsewhere.

I read over there that you should stay on the screen where I turn the Wifi hotspot to the "ON" position on my iPhone 11.  It connects every time, if that is the case.  After connection, one can then move from that screen to something else.

The TGIF Junior working consistently now in mobile operations.....
