Persist pi-star login on iPad
« on: February 04, 2019, 08:18:07 pm »
I have no problems on the desktop Chrome browser staying signed into the pi-star web interface. However with the iPad Safari browser, I'm constantly having to log in again. I've checked for login cookies with Chrome Dev Tools (on my desktop) and there aren't any. I haven't tried with an Android device yet, only iOS.

Any ideas?

I would recommend using Firefox on your IPad it will remember your login info and remain logged while browser is open.

Glenn,

Your idea works! It doesn't exactly keep the session logged in. But it does keep the credentials populated in the popup box. So it's as easy as clicking the login link again without the hassle of re-entering the credentials.

I didn't expect your idea would work. Apple forces all third party iOS browsers to use the same engine as Safari. Apparently Apple allows enough customization to store credentials differently than Safari.

Thanks!
