This is what John Naylor posted about the changes on the last pi-star changes.
"Hi All
Happy New Year 2019. Do you realise that the first official release of the MMDVM was on the 14th January 2016? It was just D-Star and DMR back then, but from small acorns do big oaks grow.
Apart from the steady trickle of bug fixes from people, I have implemented two code updates that affect functionality of the MMDVMHost and the YSF Gateway.
MMDVMHost
Chris Taylor G0WTZ suggested that it would be useful to be able to reset the mode to idle when a hostspot was in one of the other modes while waiting in order to save time. This has to be done programmatically so I added a simple external command function. This requires it to be enabled in the MMDVM.ini file and to use a new program named RemoteCommand which is included in the MMDVMHost repository. In the new MMDVM.ini you need to set Enable=1 in the [Remote Control] section.
The command will be of the form "RemoteCommand 7642 "mode idle" to set the mode to idle for example. Other acceptable modes are "lockout", "d-star", "dmr", "ysf", "p25", and "nxdn". The 7642 must match the Port value in the [Remote Control] section.
YSF Gateway
The latest Wires-X update from Yaesu appears to have changed the handling of Wires-X by removing case insensitivity. From what we can tell, thank to Andy MW0MWZ, is that it now only works correctly if the Wires-X reflector names are now forced to be upper case. There is a new parameter in the [General] section named WiresXUpperCase and the default is on. At some point this will stop being an option and will become default behaviour. I think this is a retrograde step from Yaesu.

**** If you haven't signed up at sin@groups.o yet please do so to get the latest's changes as they come up.
I've had several call because their hotspots and repeaters were having trouble. The sin@groups.io should have the posts and will email if you have notifications enabled.
Hope everyone had happy Holidays and have enjoyed the warm weather .
There will be several changes coming very soon on the SIN network and with Pistar and MMDVM , be sure to sign up with the group and stay current with the changes.
The w9win.net website runs behind on the updates and will be only used for General information with the bulk of the mmdvm and digital conversation and files going to the forum pltform.
Thanks for being a part of the evolution of amateur radio and the digital voice and data testing.
