Hi There,
I am one of the technical leads for a large linked repeater system in Western Colorado ( http://gmra.org )  we have 14 linked repeaters that cover western Colorado, Eastern Utah and parts of AZ.  We host RACES / ARES and AUX comm groups as well as search and rescue.   We have had more and more interest in DMR and as of now there is only one repeater in Grand Junction and it's tied to BM and sits on TAC310 all the time.  We are interested in getting some DMR repeaters at our sites and giving our members DMR access as well as giving them the capability of setting up hot spots if they are in a fringe area.  my email address is wa4hnd@gmra.org  Right now we also have IRLP and All-star support but neither is used on a regular basis.

Hi Robert,

I've been pondering that question.  For people in Colorado, Eastern Utah and AZ, our system is simply referred to as GMRA  ( Grand Mesa Repeater Association ) but that's not a good description for anyone not in that area.  I guess we could explain that to people via the Wiki and also have a link to our web site ( http://gmra.org )  ( we plan to update the site with a ton of DMR info on how to find TGIF and our TG on DMR, once we know what the TG number will be.

I really can't nail it down to an area because we have a lot of members who are retired and travel the entire southwest in their motor homes  So you'll have people on there using hot spots that could be anyplace from CO south to CO west. ( one of the reasons for the request in the first place )
I guess "GMRA" or "Grand Mesa Repeater Association"  would make the most sense and we'll explain in the WIKI.  BTW both I and son are enjoying the hot spots... well done sir.

Al

Thanks Robert,

We'll start getting the word out.

Will try to start the Wiki entry this weekend and start updating our web site next week.
